Strengthening trade relations with diamond-producing countries is a priority, as we highlight Antwerp’s unmatched assets: its reputation as the most trusted diamond trading center and its strategic location near major luxury concerns and "Maisons".

In addition, we assist the diamond community with practical challenges. We provide guidance to diamond companies seeking to open bank accounts, personally assisting them in navigating the basic banking services required for their operations.

AWDC follows a proactive and transparent communications strategy to strengthen awareness about Antwerp’s diamond industry. By highlighting both its challenges and strengths, we aim to bring the diamond industry and its products closer to the public while promoting and defending Belgium’s diamond industry both nationally and internationally. This includes organizing major events such as the FACETS diamond conference, which gathers over 500 attendees from across the industry to underscore Antwerp’s relevance as a global diamond hub.

We also maintain close relationships with trade journalists and national and international business journalists, providing them with accurate and transparent insights into the diamond industry. Additionally, we adopt this same strategy through our own channels, such as our website, social media platforms, and newsletters, ensuring consistent and open communication with our audience.

Via its Compliance Helpdesk, AWDC simplifies this process by providing clear, accessible information on our website, organizing regular training sessions, and hosting both online and in-person info sessions. We aim to ensure that Antwerp’s diamond companies stay informed, compliant, and competitive.

Diamond Office is truly the beating heart of Antwerp’s diamond district. Serving as the only customs office in Belgium authorized to import and export diamonds outside the EU, it is a much called-for service for all Antwerp diamond traders. Antwerp companies rely on Diamond Office’s services daily, whether importing and exporting for customers, sending and receiving goods from grading ins grading institutes, manufacturers, or for international trade fairs.

Together with FPS Economy and FPS Finance (Customs), AWDC operates a rigorous triple-control system at Diamond Office, ensuring that every diamond shipment is physically inspected. This process makes Antwerp’s diamond trade the most closely monitored in the world and Diamond Office a key supporter of AWDC’s mission to maintain, defend, and strengthen Antwerp’s reputation as the most transparent and reliable diamond trading center globally.

AWDC maintains close contact with its constituency, actively supporting diamond companies in their trade and marketing efforts. One of our initiatives is organizing ‘Antwerp Diamond Pavillions’ at some of the world’s most important diamond trade fairs, held multiple times a year. At these ‘Antwerp Diamond Pavilions’, Antwerp diamond traders showcase their finest goods to an international audience while being united under the strong Antwerp brand. These initiatives enhance Antwerp’s global visibility and connect diamond traders with potential clients worldwide.

Monitoring and safeguarding the security in the Diamond District against all internal and external threats is the primary mission of AWDC Security.

The city’s diamond square mile, home to 1,400 Belgian diamond companies, offers a highly secure environment where businesses can operate with peace of mind.
